Spiritual
Wellness
"Everything in
nature contains all the power of nature. Everything is made of
one hidden stuff."
Ralph Waldo
Emerson
Are you uncomfortable with
God?
Yikes! I’ve spent a lot of time trying
to figure out this relationship! Yes, I’ve seen many wonderful
expressions of religion and spirituality. But I’ve also seen
the wars, destruction and pain of misplaced religious beliefs.
And personally, I had my own religious baggage from my
childhood. I was a mixed bag of conflicts and confusion
concerning God. But I really wanted to develop a personal
relationship and experience this oneness of God. And how
does this relate to womens health
wellness?
I realized that if I
really wanted a sense of well being, joy, physical and
emotional
wellness and inner peace in my
life, I had to get in touch with my own spiritual
nature. spiritual wellness is a journey within
oursleves. So the search was on. And I know I have
not been alone on this quest. More and more, people are
trying out new religions - looking for what speaks to them
as THEIR truth. And it is all good! On some level we know
that getting comfortable with God is getting comfortable
with ourselves and everyone else. This also contributes
greatly to womens
health wellness. Developing this
relationship is key to our spirtual wellness
too.
In my search and study I found
three common threads in all religions:
1. All believe in some creative
intelligence.
2. All believe that this intelligence
is good.
3. All believe that we are expressions
of this intelligence.
At the core of religions (and even
science) is the belief that there is some creative
intelligence, some substance that is ‘in and through’
everything. We might call this presence God, Allah, Brama,
life, nature, The Universe, and so forth.
It’s also a core belief that this
Creative Intelligence, this oneness of God is good! Its divine
nature is unconditional love, joy, peace, wholeness, and
abundance. Some call this God’s ‘Grace’.
And lastly, all religions have the
common belief that we are expressions of this ‘Grace’. We often
hear that we are made in the image and likeness of this one
infinite power. Therefore, God is within each and every one of
us! And so is Its divine nature of grace – love, joy, peace,
wholeness, abundance and all goodness. This oneness of God is
who we all are. And womens health wellness has
much to do with our relationship with God.
The writings, rituals and practice of
these common threads may differ greatly from religion to
religion but the core beliefs are essentially the same. The
celebration of God may look completely different from culture
to culture and from person to person. But we’re really
celebrating the same thing – the recognition of a divine
presence that is good and is present everywhere - even in
ourselves.
Spiritual wellness for each of us is a
personal journey of unfoldment. It is about
discovering the truths that speak to us and then
practicing and walking those truths. It is about
developing a personal intimate relationship with the
prescence that we experience more and more deeply daily.
Developing our spiritual wellness also helps us become
more aware of our mind body
connection.
Living
well and creating a strong feeling of well being starts
with us cultivating and participating in a relationship
with God. This naturally leads us to spiritual
wellness.
